The promenade on the banks of the Rhine was restored by the addition of an avenue of plane trees, the extension of paths and squares and attractive furnishings. The lines of the shipping companies show up as a stainless steel band in the paving. A wave wall dissolves into individual seating bollards and ends in a rock formation.
