The former Hansa coking plant in Dortmund-Huckarde is now an industrial monument. The "Wassergestalt Hansa" project, officially opened in December 2015, has added another attraction.

Visitors can follow not only the path of the coal, but also that of the rainwater. A wooden model on a scale of 1:1 illustrates how water used to be cooled efficiently on a large scale at the Hansa coking plant. The impressive "trickling system" is a fascinating water feature that visitors can set in motion themselves.

In addition, a one-metre-wide and 345-metre-long water channel in the area of the coking plant's "White Road", with planting at certain points and crossing possibilities, is a striking new element within the historic site. All rainwater is fed into this channel and directed from there to the cooling towers, whose steel structures tower prominently into the sky. The historic concrete water basins below these cooling towers are given a new function. They serve as collection basins for the rainwater, which is pumped underground from there to the Emscher.
