When planning the new "Egert" housing estate, the focus was on integrating an integrated rainwater management system. In addition to the public areas, it was also essential to include private properties in the concept.

The area posed special challenges to the planners. It is located in the immediate vicinity of a nature reserve, the so-called Forstbach. This brook course possesses a singular stone crayfish population, which may not be endangered.

Das Atilier Dreiseitl developed a basic concept that plans as much rain water, as possible on private and public surfaces to zuzzuzuhalten. In the private range for this in particular a surface covering roof greening, as well as an open derivative duech troughs are intended. On public areas, the drainage into the retention areas is also carried out via swales or paved gutters.

In addition, it was essential for the planning that the functional rainwater drainage in conjunction with aesthetic open space design contributes to a high quality living environment.
