The small square between the Volksbank and the ProMa shopping centre should be seen as the initial spark and impulse for a pedestrian-friendly inner city development of Markdorf. A square with a quality of stay and greenery has emerged from a formerly grey concrete block area. Concrete 'seat cushions', planting and special furnishings invite passers-by to linger and play. The soft plastic surface, the umbrella-shaped bubble trees and the red tulip-shaped lights give the square its special character.
