The conscious handling of the historical spatial structures laid out by Ludwig Lesser is the basis for the redesign of the Kurpark.

"The work shows that the symbiosis of new and old can succeed. The new elements blend harmoniously into the historic park. They show a clear language of form down to the last detail. In this way, the authors have succeeded in creating an almost timeless park. The skilful handling of the plants also catches the eye..." Excerpt from the jury, German Landscape Architecture Prize 2001

"... but overall the open space has a classic, timeless feel. Historical traces and the valuable old tree population were coherently combined with new elements to form an overall landscape composition." From: Neu verorten - zeitgenössische deutsche Landschaftsarchitektur, BDLA (ed.), Birkhauser Verlag, 2002

Jury verdict: The work shows that the symbiosis of new and old can succeed. The new elements blend harmoniously into the historic park. They show a clear language of form down to the last detail. In this way, the authors have succeeded in creating an almost timeless park. Also the skillful handling of the plant, as for example in the "Rhododendron Valley", catches the eye.

Overall, it is commendable that the revitalized park fits well into the concept for Bad Saarow-Pieskow without resorting too much to historicisms.
