Private park Neustadt a.d. Weinstraße

The garden is located on the east side of the Palatinate Forest. The comprehensive redesign of the 7000 m² hillside property takes place in connection with the conversion of the residential house, which dates from the seventies. The reduced formal language of the garden is based on the equally formal remodeling of the building.
It was particularly important to emphasize the imposing views of the Rhine Valley and to freely old and thereby design a contemporary garden.

The horizontal layers of the site became the main theme, accordingly, the design can be divided into four levels.
The top access level is characterized by flat corten steel gates, the Amberbaumtor and the Amberbaumreihe, which lines the driveway.
The Eingngsebene is designed restrained. Lawn carpeting and wavy cut snowball dominate here.
The actual garden level is associated with the basement. The symmetrical reference of this level to the building experiences a break at the point where the line follows the preferred direction of view to the southeast to the lower-lying tree grove. The break is marked by a shallow water basin made of Corten steel, which extends perpendicularly to the slope into the terrain. Beneath it is a small indicated ravine with a stony stream.
