Wave Am Sandtorkai HafenCity Hamburg Pop Art in HafenCity Hamburg

For the polder surface at China Shipping, the Hanoverian artist C. Junghanns developed the outline motif "Wave".

The approx. 17 x 20 m large picture was transferred in the context of an art action by means of 1:1 geplotteter stencils on a pre-drawn coordinate system on the surface. From the artist, landscape architects and employees of a marking company, the waves were taped and applied as a cold sculpture.

The motif appears not only from the upper floors of the engrenzenden buildings, but also from eye level decidedly striking and thus brings a little more poetry to the mastic asphalt, which serves as a rescue route of the fire department in case of flooding and may therefore only be designed flat.
