The Henriette Herz Park and the Tilla Durieux Park together form a green and at the same time urban link between the historic Tiergarten and the park on the Gleisdreieck.

The design for Henriette Herz Park was significantly revised following the competition. The original design, which had more the character of a city square, did not seem green enough to clients and residents. Therefore DS landschapsarchitekten, Amsterdam, together with the artist Shlomo Koren, developed a new design, which was completed in 2002.
The concept is based on the association of a broken plate. "Shards as a metaphor for the rupture between East and West; clods of earth thrown up by subterranean forces; chunks of stone ploughed to the surface."

The triangular base is divided into four clods that rise from the edges to the center. The sloping lawns, where scilla bloom in spring, are bordered by red Finnish granite. This colourfulness is repeated in the paths between the clods, which allow a variety of crossing possibilities. At the same time, these paths also allow for an interesting spatial experience, as the height of the border changes as you walk through. The perimeter streets feature trees and benches.

The result is both green space and a work of art. "... the designers counter the fast-moving urban environment with an expressive place that, by limiting itself to very simple abstract but all the more powerful elements, slows down the pace, creates a resting space and, quite incidentally, also offers urban dwellers the everyday luxury of being able to make themselves comfortable for a while on the lawns and let their thoughts wander" (Udo Weilacher). In contrast to the Tilla Durieux Park, the Henriette Herz Park is more of a quiet retreat.
