As part of the complete renovation and expansion of the Bach Museum in Leipzig, a place was created that will not only exhibit historical documents in future, but will also use multimedia to bring the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach to life. Small concerts at which Bach's works can be heard in the 'Garden Chamber' are particularly popular today.

A modern extension was added to the former upper middle-class residence, the architectural language of which is continued in the adjoining museum garden. The proportions of the merchant family's historic town garden (formerly 56.25 x 31.5 cubits) were transferred to the newly created garden courtyard, and the historic level, which had been raised by 2 meters due to recent urban developments and the consequences of the Second World War, was restored to allow access from the house into the garden.

Classic garden elements, adapted to modern times, furnish the modern pleasure garden like furniture in a room in a house. The result is an open space that reflects the historical significance of the Bosescher Bürgergarten and translates the current needs of users and functions into a contemporary look, a garden that invites museum visitors to linger in the middle of Leipzig's city center.
