The building not only functions as a daycare center, but is also used as a parent competence center. Therefore, the design of the open space is thematically differentiated into two parts: The area with the main entrance and the delivery driveway, which is essentially designed according to the usual usage-related criteria, is juxtaposed with the play area, which was designed to meet the needs of the children.
The design of the play area is intended to help promote the children's mental as well as physical development. In order to be able to meet these requirements, in addition to classic play equipment such as slides, swings or climbing equipment, elements of near-natural playground design are also used. In addition to climbing trees, climbing hills and willow structures such as the tunnel and the tipis, a kitchen garden is planned for part of the available area, where the children can become active themselves. Within the framework of plant selection, particular importance is attached to using plant species with tasty fruits (e.g. wild apple, rock pear, wild strawberry). The existing tree population could be integrated into the design concept. The highlight of the facility is a hilly "race track" for bobby cars or other children's vehicles, which is paved with various materials.
