Martha-Maria Hospital Halle Dölau Open spaces | Courtyards

In the course of the expansion and modernization measures of the Martha-Maria Hospital, the outdoor facilities were adapted to the changed conditions of use. Among other things, approx. 9,800 m² of extensive and intensive green roof areas were created, partly above operating theatres and treatment rooms, with high design standards, which serve as patient gardens and have a high quality of stay. Further completed projects are: Courtyard landscaping and sunken gardens, playground, helipad including aeronautical permits and parking lots. Within a stormwater management plan, stormwater from all roof areas was systematically converted from conventional disposal to infiltration in all construction phases. In the process, an 850 m² water surface was created in one of the inner courtyards, which serves both as a temporary storage area and as a design element in connection with floating art objects.
