The landscape park Dieskau was laid out under the chancellor of the University of Halle, Carl Christoph von Hoffmann, in the years 1778 - 1784. It is one of the early landscape gardens in Germany. The young gardener Johann Georg Gottlieb Schoch, who was employed in Wörlitz, supervised the design of the park in Dieskau. The park is part of the state project "Garden Dreams - Historical Parks in Saxony-Anhalt".
The park has a size of 64 hectares and has monument and nature conservation status.
The monument conservation overall use concept created in 2000 forms the basis for the renovation work that has been taking place since 2002. Within the redevelopment work that has taken place, park spaces and sight lines have been opened up and path construction work, watercourse restoration, bridge construction and woodland planting have been carried out in order to make the original character of the park visible again. New and restored historic monuments complete the site. In 2014, the Chinese Tea House was completed. Built in 2010 on historic foundations, the fieldstone grotto with viewing platform was complemented by the cubature of the teahouse, as a spatial reminder of the silhouette of the historic building, in steel skeleton construction. It is a walk-in work of art by the metal sculptor Jörg Bochow. The spatial experience and visual relationship from the Orangery/Castle Square to the Chinese Tea House can be experienced again via the Pleasureground.
