Development of an urban master plan according to the guidelines of the integrated urban development and growth concept (prerequisite for ERDF projects). Subsequent realisation of the town hall forecourt and Großer Straße up to Bäckerstraße.

The old town of Verden is one of the few town centres that have been almost completely spared destruction by wars and economic developments. The redesign removes existing barriers and creates a harmonious interplay of historic facades and redesigned surface. Bands of natural stone slabs and rows of pavers condense along the walking axes, while bands of pavers predominate in the surface. The pavement thus reacts to the use and to the small-scale proportions of the buildings. The planning also takes into account the usability for large events (Domweih, the oldest folk festival in northern Germany) and is equipped with the associated technology.

Numerous information events and presentations were held and accompanied.
