On the site of the new campus of the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, the Max Planck Society has built a new institute and library as the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History.
For the prestigious inner courtyard, we chose a covering of limestone slabs in line with the façade material and the material concept of the rest of the campus area.
These are laid in three different widths in crunchy strips. The result is a homogeneous surface that is easy to walk on and allows for possible celebrations or receptions in the courtyard area.
The path structure between the planting areas that lead to the center of the courtyard is cast from a color-coordinated synthetic resin pavement. This allows the designed "branch structure" to be easily traced.
