"In a world that is spinning ever more frantically, quickly, and confusingly, the goal is to create a place where excellence, luxury, and warmth flow effortlessly into one another." WES's open space design is in keeping with this credo of architects Störmer Murphy and Partners. The greatest art here is restraint, so that the unique atmosphere of the site can unfold undisturbed.

The basic motif is gently and calmly sweeping lawns, interspersed with picturesque park trees. To the north, south and west, linear hedge parterres frame the site and form the urban connection. One of the three objects is a highly polished stone element that enhances the reflection of light, water and sky, forming a reduced association with the stately parterres of historic villas and castles.

Based on the circular idea of the architectural structure, a slightly elevated, circular and reflective water object forms the center of the forecourt. In keeping with the philosophy of the grand hotel
The Fontenay "exclusivity and luxury do not have to be thickly applied and must not immediately jump out at the eye", the restrained, at the same time precisely defined conception of the outdoor facilities creates a unique, thoroughly poetic, atmosphere that makes luxury and elegance tangible in a contemporary way.
