Delbrück church garden Design of the church's outdoor facilities

The Segenskirche church with its attached community center and simple, open outdoor facilities and parking area undergoes its first extensive renovation after its inauguration in 1973. The original concept was retained and the close relationship between the outdoor space and the cubic and geometric forms of the building and the free-standing bell tower was further developed. The slab material and the seating furniture are selected in a corresponding design language.



In the spacious pedestrian entrance area, blood plums are planted and grass beds are laid out, the path surfaces are covered with concrete slabs in Roman bond. Further trees are planned in the form of apple trees and cherry trees. The choice of tree species makes direct reference to the Easter period: resurrection and spring are expressed in the abundant pink and white blossom of the trees. The grass bed is the result of a contemporary understanding of nature.

The driveway and parking spaces are paved with simple concrete paving - some with lawn joints.
