The site of the educational campus combines the listed old building of the old school, which today houses the city museum, the old gymnasium, the Astrid Lindgren elementary school with 3 building wings and the new construction of the planned multi-purpose building, which is to be used as a canteen and event hall.

The new forecourt created by the canteen building is a semi-public space that can be used as a common room for the school and after-school care center, but is also accessible as a public square in the evenings or at weekends. Here, the square surface will be completely renewed by laying a carpet-like surface of water-permeable asphalt in the surrounding paved area. The existing trees will be replaced and seating will be provided.

The actual schoolyard opens up adjacent to the forecourt. A green classroom is to be created to the north of building wing 1. The existing slope will be terraced in three levels. The terraces are green planting areas with perennials, grasses and low shrubs, while wooden seating and wooden platforms are also planned.

The schoolyard will be repaved due to the extensive pipe renewal. A blue band runs across the new paved areas from the north to the south. Various play and information facilities will be integrated into the strip. For example, a section of the ribbon will bring the old arm of the Dosse to light in terms of design. In other areas, the blue ribbon will become play areas, such as a new streetball field or a labyrinth route.

A school garden in the form of raised beds is planned for the west of the school.

The buildings will all be made barrier-free by planning new ramps.
