As part of the expansion of Bad Essen secondary school, a separate new building was constructed for the fifth grade. This had to be connected to the existing grounds and integrated into the exterior design. By using the same clinker brick, the paved areas seamlessly connect to the existing schoolyard. The difference in level to the surrounding area is overcome by means of a staircase and several raised beds. As a special design, the striking seat supports of the flowerbed borders are a special feature. Their color matches the design of the new building and blends into the overall picture. With its seating options, the square provides a separate recreational area for the fifth graders.
