The framework plan for the development of the old foundry site is based on the award-winning competition design for the reorganization of the former factory site. Within defined building plots, urban building blocks will be placed that take up and continue the overarching principles of the historical development.

The construction site of the technical college extension is divided into 5 independent components to be realized independently. The university buildings of the first construction phase form an urban ensemble with the foundry hall, which creates a coherent connection to the city center with the central square.

The structure of the hotel and conference building recedes behind the alignment between the 'Neues Schloss' and the 'Kavalier Dallwigk'. This creates a spacious access area to the higher Danube terrace with a direct connection to the river.

The entire foundry site can be used by the public as open space. The planned fortress circular path will be continued in the area of the old foundry site and thus closed to form a circular path.
