The KULT Schule, a former school, has been a cultural center for a number of years and is home to various cultural organizations, a daycare facility, a bicycle repair shop and a youth center. The existing building is currently being renovated and the cultural center is surrounded by a new elementary school including outdoor facilities and a new sports hall.

The design of the outdoor facilities is intended to provide a uniform space for the diverse range of activities offered by the KULT school and at the same time do justice to the varied creativity and different uses. Overall, the outdoor space is divided into four areas. To the west are the main entrance areas of the school and the daycare center, to the south the forecourt connected to Sewanstrasse, to the east the inner courtyard with the daycare center open space and to the southeast the outdoor space of the youth club.

The organic design language chosen for the outdoor areas that flow around the building forms a contrast to the straight lines of the building. This allows the newly renovated building and the newly created outdoor space to each exist in their own right.

The organic design incorporates various 'active bands', which integrate movement areas, benches, bicycle stands and car parking spaces. The green areas and green square islands serve to enhance the climate and design and are also used as drainage areas.
