Building area Mertingen "South Mertingen

In the municipality of Mertingen, the new construction area "Mertingen Süd" is currently being built. In the first construction phase, about 70 building plots are planned, if necessary, it is expandable to twice the size.

The concept was designed according to the principles of geomancy. Geomancy deals (similar to the eastern Feng Shui) with the invisible forces of the earth and tries, for example, the genius loci, the spirit of the place to grasp and take into account in the planning.
The goal is to create a supportive atmosphere that offers the residents a livable and lovable home.

Dipl.-Ing. Norbert Mannes already dealt with his diploma thesis with the construction work and has designed after the geomantic investigation of the area, the concept of the lotus flower, which gives the streets their shape. Each street will have its own street tree to strengthen identity and orientation. The most important energetic points will be specially marked by artistic installations. Thus, a sculpture made of Corten steel will be created at the entrance to the construction area, a wayside shrine will be built on the outer footpath to invite people to linger, and a fountain will be built in the future center to serve as a lively meeting place for the residents.
