The sustainable, decentralized handling of rainwater and the creation of privately available gardens for tenants support the ambitious goal of an ecologically oriented overall modernization of the Lindenhofsiedlung.

Rainwater infiltration - sensible handling of rainwater
In total, almost 7,300 m² of sealed surface area is disconnected from the sewer system. Via pavement and lawn gutters, rainwater is directed from the downpipes on the gable ends of the buildings into shallow lawn troughs where it can seep away.

Tenant gardens - "green rooms" on the balcony
The ground floor balconies are equipped with stair access to the open space at the request of the tenants. At the foot of the balcony is a garden plot for the free disposal of tenants. In some areas, plots could also be made available for upper-floor tenants.

House terraces - for the house community
To the basement entrances, narrow garden paths are laid out from the street. Small house terraces created there are available to the residents for common use.

Entrance square - place to chat
The house entrances are expanded into entrance squares. Small trees complement the existing trees. In front of the house fronts low base green is planted.

Parkwelle and Lindenhofplatz
For all residents of the Lindenhof, the Parkwelle was created in a strip of open space. On this surface the local soil management is realized. The resulting excavated soil from the seepage troughs is modelled here to form flat waves of lawn.
The Lindenhofplatz is the communicative centre of the settlement. Through the lumbering of the existing tree population, a public space in light shade has been created, which is a playground and recreation area.
