Experience the Jagst Jagstzell

Local recreation and water play at the Jagst in the centre of Jagstzell.

As part of the "Experience the Jagst" project in Jagstzell, a local recreation area was created in the centre of Jagstzell with play and recreation facilities, arboretum and information boards, green classroom, wooden terrace, public toilet, car park and camper pitches.

One highlight is the water playground on the Jagst. Here the Jagst was widened and a small side arm was formed. The side arm can be used as a play area due to its low water level. The play island in the Jagst can be reached via several bouncy stones. A new branch of the Kerlesbach running above was designed as a play area with jetty possibilities, water valves and a water wheel. Downstream is the water forest, another play area that provides cooling in hot summers.

Above the playground is the renovated parking lot, which was supplemented by two RV parking spaces including supply infrastructure, a charging station for electric cars and a public toilet. At the same time, the parking lot can also be used as a festival site by clubs. A newly constructed equipment hut provides space for festival equipment as well as learning materials for students.
On the wooden terrace at the clubhouse of the small animal breeders, events can also take place and it also offers a great view of the play and recreation area on the Jagst.

South of the wooden terrace, an embankment with seating steps was created, which can be used for the outdoor cinema or smaller performances.
In the adjoining area, an arboretum with the trees of the year since 1989 was created. Information boards provide information about the trees and birds of the year as well as other topics such as the adjacent fish ladder, the use of hydroelectric power and the importance of the Jagst in Jagstzell.
