Altglienicke fire station Design of the traffic and outdoor facilities for a fire station

The outdoor facilities of the new Volunteer Fire Brigade Altglienicke building are divided into a forecourt, a training area and a barbecue area with a lawn. The main entrance, waste garbage cans and access to the bicycle parking spaces are located on the forecourt. Behind the building are the parking spaces, the large radio mast with supply container, the barbecue area and the practice area.



The forecourt and exercise areas will be paved with large-format concrete paving with natural stone facing (60/40 cm), while the car parking spaces will be paved in a smaller format. The bicycle parking area is to be paved with grass liners.



A natural stone paved path leads to the barbecue area with adjoining pavilion, which will be used by the firefighters. The adjoining area will be planted with grass. Wooden benches will be placed in the barbecue area and in front of the building.



The paved area will be illuminated by light poles close to the building.

In the interests of nature conservation, nesting boxes will be installed on the new building for building breeders. An insect nesting aid for solitary bees will be installed in the open space. The property will be bordered by a field maple hedge. On the forecourt, the entrances to the property will be structured by planting areas of ground cover and flowering shrubs. The replacement plantings of birch, cherry and gleditsia will be realized to the south and west of the property.
