With the construction of the forecourt of the Pablo Neruda Library in 2018-2020, the redesign of the Frankfurter Allee cultural and educational campus was completed as the final construction phase.

The Pablo Neruda Library is located in the second row of Frankfurter Allee. The front of the Stalin buildings opens up like a window to reveal the district central library and its impressive cedar wood façade. The relocation of the entrance to the street line in the course of the conversion of the former school into a library increases the presence of the building in the urban space and required a new arrangement of the serving functions in order to create a harmonious relationship between the square and the building. With the exception of two disabled parking spaces, the existing car parking spaces have been removed in favor of spacious vegetation islands.

The square was made car-free and is bordered by bollards towards the street. Access for delivery vehicles and the fire department is via gaps in the bollards. The design of the square and the furnishing elements refer to the color scheme of the surrounding architecture. The paving consists of a beige stone pavement that echoes the color of the base of the Stalin buildings. Three long seating elements provide contrasting accents. The square is illuminated by illuminated columns.

Three planting areas structure the square and take over part of the square drainage. The existing row of maples was supplemented and complemented by two space-creating rows of Ginkgo biloba.
