The market square was reorganized on the basis of the special urban position of the historic town hall. Town Hall. This was emphasized by a central square inlay as well as by cut tree canopies of existing and new groups of trees. Some of the existing sculptures and the fountain were repositioned in order to create the area and space of the inlay.

Der Entwurf entstand im Zuge des Realisierungswettbewerbs zum Marktplatz Witzenhausen und wurde vom Preisgericht mit dem 1. Preis gewürdigt. Wurde jedoch in anschließenden Bürgerbeteiligungsverfahren und Ausschusssitzungen nicht mit der weiteren Umsetzung empfohlen.
