Allende-Platz is a public parking lot surrounded by sidewalks near the university. By relocating the steps between the existing robinia trees and the parking lot, an enlarged recreational area for public use has been created next to the restaurant terraces. On a high-quality surface of recycled natural stone paving, multi-stemmed rock pears stand in generous wooden pedestals, which act as protection for the shrubs and as seating. The plants shield the newly created recreational areas from the parking lot and enhance the green ambience. While bicycles and cars share the traffic area at the foot of the step, pedestrians remain protected by the height offset. New bicycle racks and a prominently positioned StadtRAD station are easily accessible.
