Barnet-Licht-Platz secondary school, Leipzig New construction of outdoor facilities

The new school building in timber construction was erected on an inner-city wasteland. The open space covers around 6,700m2 and accommodates various green and recreational areas arranged in different zones. According to

fire protection regulations, the building's construction means that the fire department must be able to access the building from all sides and these areas must be kept free of installations. Sports activities and quiet zones have been provided for the pupils of the secondary school, and the planting

is based on ecological principles. In the design, attention was also paid to minimizing rainwater runoff. Aspects of sustainability and robustness of the fixtures also played a role.
