Outdoor area for the new building of the Ministry for Urban Development and the Environment (BSU)

The design idea for the outdoor spaces refers to the goals and areas of responsibility of the Ministry for Urban Development and the Environment, such as landscape planning, sustainability, soil and climate protection, and translates them into design structures. The open space structures on the roof terraces and the garden courtyard were derived from a selection of images of typical Hamburg landscapes such as the carpet-like Geest landscapes and tideways on the Elbe. The topics of climate protection and sustainability are particularly taken into account in the green roofs and choice of materials.
