The former Böblingen/ Sindelfingen airfield has been developed into a high-quality urban quarter that provides for commercial, service and administrative, university, residential, leisure and recreational uses. In the middle of this new urban quarter is a park: the "Green Center" with a play and sports park, covering a total area of 85,000 m². The northern end of the park is formed by the "Long Lake", which ensures the rainwater disposal/rainwater management of the quarter. To the south, the park is accessed via a wide promenade with linear design elements consisting of benches, hedges and grass strips that mark the boundary to the adjacent residential area. A curved leisure path in the north of the park connects the different areas of the park and leads into the play and sports park, which is reminiscent of its past as an airfield with a climbing tower, a roller sports field and a play hangar.
