A small former factory in a central city location - today a loft-like apartment with special living qualities in combination with its garden.
The courtyard area as a multifunctional space: private garden, parking lot, playground and recreation room all in one.
Staggered room dividers, transparent but increasingly dense, divide the elongated outdoor space while retaining its sense of scale, creating garden niches. At the same time, their form echoes the former industrial use and they also serve as a pergola and basic framework for awnings.
Corten steel edging, gabions and old basalt paving - industrial materiality in a new context lend the residential courtyard its very special charm and make it an oasis in the hustle and bustle of the city.
