The town of Wertheim is located in the north of Baden-Württemberg at the mouth of the Tauber into the Main, and the townscape is shaped in a special way by this landscape situation. Therefore, one focus of the urban redevelopment was to create a better experience and accessibility of the banks of the Tauber against the backdrop of the old town. The defining element of the riverbank design is the "shoreline", a continuous sandstone element that traces the course of the path by day and by night thanks to the integrated lighting elements.

The first construction phase of the overall project has been completed to date.
