Bordesholm, new town centre

New town centre, Bahnhofstrasse, Rathausplatz, Mühlenstrasse

The development of the town centre has occupied the municipality of Bordesholm since the end of the 1990s. With the discontinuation of the operation of the bakery Kamps on a large, central area in the middle of the town centre and the inclusion of the municipality of Bordesholm in the urban development programme of the state of Schleswig-Holstein, the essential framework conditions for the redesign of the new town centre were given.

The centrepiece of the new town centre is the new town hall, which is also the central seat of the administration of the Bordesholm office. At the same time with the new city hall building also the place before the city hall including station forecourt/mill road was finished.

In the context of the reorganization measure the traffic guidance in the station road and the mill road was arranged again ,and the plan road A was built, in order to keep the non-resident traffic out of the center.
