The athletics facility (B-facility) of the Paul Luckow Stadium was in a state in need of major renovation. Significant deficiencies were a poor evenness and the resulting poor surface drainage as well as mechanical damage and aging of the plastic surface.

In the course of the renovation, a complete DIN - compliant new construction of the grass playing field, the circular tracks and sectors and the athletics facilities took place. For the sprinkling of the grass playing field, a well system and an automatic sprinkling system have been installed.
