The municipality of Kronshagen has replaced the previous training ground, a 35 year old artificial pitch, with a new one.
The synthetic turf surface is a 3rd generation synthetic turf, in which the pole layer is filled with a mixture of quartz sand and rubber granules (EPDM). This construction corresponds to the current state of the art and offers footballers playing characteristics similar to natural grass.
Plastic turf has an advantage over training pitches made of grass or threshing floors not only because of the significantly higher stress and intensity of use.
Since the 2005 / 06 season, UEFA has permitted compulsory matches on plastic turf, i.e. Champions League, UEFA Cup, international matches and league matches. The use of synthetic turf pitches for league matches is therefore also possible in the amateur sector.
The training ground is completely fenced with a 4 - 6 m high ball fence and equipped with training lighting for training in the evening hours.
To ensure the need for pitches, the construction of 42 pitches is planned.
The compensatory plantings required for the intervention are made entirely on the site.
