In the course of modernising the "Classic" and "Zugspitze" ski areas, all landscape planning tasks were carried out. The projects include the new construction and expansion of lifts (Hausbergbahn, Kandaharexpress, Kinderland), snow-making facilities and facilities to promote summer tourism (Alpspix, Genuss-Erlebnisweg, Mauerläufersteig).
The previous large cable car was replaced by a gondola lift with space for eight passengers per cabin and 66 cabins. This has improved the range of winter sports on offer in the region. The new gondola lift route corresponds in large parts to the old route.
The nature and environment documents prepared in this context include studies on environmental compatibility, a landscape conservation plan and statements on forest law issues. In addition, NRT carried out the environmental construction supervision for the construction project.
The minimization of interventions is of central importance due to the outstanding position of the Hausberg in various aspects. Within the framework of the compensation concept and the landscape management measures, the near-natural character was restored or optimised overall. The impairments could be partially compensated within the study area in a close spatial and functional context. Here, areas were upgraded in terms of nature conservation through appropriate forestry measures, including the afforestation of unstocked steep slope areas.
