In the redesign of the forecourt to the Lüner town hall, the focus was on the consistent continuation of the original architectural idea of the listed town hall. The area of the former water stairs is reinterpreted by a walkable, illuminated glass surface. During the day, the sky of Lünen is reflected in the walkable plateau, bathing it in hues ranging from turquoise to light blue. At night, wavelike circles of light that break through the blue glass surface lend the square a lively core.
