In a joint venture with the architectural firm ARS Architektur und Stadtplanung and with the support of BIT-Ingenieure AG |Dr. Ing. Volker Mörgenthaler in the area of traffic planning.

Two-phase competition with subsequent VOF procedure.

The aim of the competition was to develop the Künzelsau location of Heilbronn University into a sustainable campus and to integrate the area around the listed Hofratsmühle and to add possible industrial business and research. In the process, flood protection, traffic connections and the landscape should be taken into account and revised, as should ownership and buildings to be preserved.

The competition entry consists of three parts and nestles on the banks of the Kocher River in the north. To the south, it is bounded by Morsbacher Strasse. Along the Kocher, north of the existing "middle" Daimlerstraße is the green zone with dormitory. The area south of Daimlerstraße consists of blocks of buildings. The western half of these is intended (in the very long term) for research and commerce, the eastern half is the campus.

The university will be supplemented by a main building (with administration and teaching), a research building, a hall of residence and a multi-storey car park. These have been arranged to incorporate the entire length of the campus. Traffic will be shifted to the perimeter, and commercial traffic will no longer be allowed to pass through the campus area. The dormitory complex is located on the bank of the Kocher River in a green area and thus not directly on the campus grounds. Next to it, the campus begins and invites with the new main building, grand staircase and front plaza on one side. The parking garage forms the other end of the campus span. This achieves that the campus is used and held together in its entire length. In the green centre, the campus park, the listed buildings are loosely distributed. This is also where the faculty villas will be located.
