As part of the urban redevelopment, the Brunnenplatz was rethought and planned with a lot of citizen participation. The previously implemented Brunnenplatz gate had significantly improved the permeability and orientation in the Hustadt and made the Brunnenplatz as a central meeting place of the Hustadt better discoverable.

Today, on the Brunnenplatz, a generous seating step system connects the upper square level with the lower. In extension of the central axis, a ramp leads barrier-free to the lower part of the square. Loosely arranged tree beds shield the ground floor zone from the square activity, but without hindering the permeability. While the lower part of the square offers a lot of space, the upper level can be used for small children's play, seating and outdoor gastronomy. The main design element is the water feature integrated into the steps, which gives the square back its name, and the pavilion designed by artist and architect Apolonija Šušteršič. The pavilion ensures that children can play on the fountain square even in bad weather.

The leisure facilities implemented in the immediate vicinity by our office, a play landscape for children between 6 and 12 years and the "Parkour" for young people, have helped to defuse the former conflicts of use on the fountain square.
