In the course of the renewal of the traffic junction Aesculap Platz, the inner area of the roundabout was redesigned.

The central element is an approx. 35-metre-long semicircular water wall, which slopes downwards in height from the centre to the ends. The water wall is open on one side so that a planted embankment in this area connects the upper and lower parts of the overall area. The water wall itself also provides slope protection to the exposed opening in the transverse pedestrian underpass inside the roundabout.

The area above the water wall will be a terraced lawn. Boxwood balls will provide structure to this lawn area. The lower interior area bordered by the water wall will be designed as a planting area. In this planted area there is a purification biotope for the treatment of the used water. Light stelae will be placed in the planting area. The water supply for the water wall at Aesculap Platz will be provided by rainwater from the adjacent rainwater clarifier. For this purpose, technical and storage tanks will be installed in the lower green area.
