Tianjin Airport Logistics Park

Tianjin Airport Logistic Park (TALP) is the key project of Tianjin Binhai New Area, which combines regional characteristics with innovative spirit from the experience of international developments. With a population of 130,000 and 200,000 employees in Tianjin Airport Logistic Park, an example of new urban development in China is being developed there.

The area is divided into two different areas, Central Avenue and the main street from Tianjin Logistic Airport Center. The symmetrical design of the buildings provide contrast to the extensive open space with park-like green areas. On Area A, the buildings are surrounded by a green park in a circle around a central lake. The lakeshore is defined by steps, which a concentric row of trees and radial flowerbeds contribute to the outdoor quality. Two opposing green peninsulas have become important habitats for aquatic plants. Area B is the central avenue. The almost symmetrical arrangement allows generous spacing between the two building sections and creates a green park-like axis with a two-towered central building.

The western side of this axis gives a park feel. Planting islands and extensive lawns give a strong contrast to the strict geometric form of the buildings.
