In 2016, on the occasion of the new construction of the continuing education center at the Stuttgart Media University in Vaihingen, the redesign of the open spaces at the main building and the reorganization of the parking spaces were initiated. By demolishing a learning pavilion, it was possible to create a multifunctional space for outdoor working as the 2nd construction phase.

The new building is oriented towards the lower Nobelstrasse and is centrally located between an existing green area with a linear hedge structure, the main building of the HdM and the parking lot area to be redesigned.

The aim was to provide barrier-free access to the buildings. Changes to the topography made it possible to create a forecourt that can be used for temporary events and can also be driven over by trucks. A terrace with seating steps was also added to the new building.

Particular attention was paid to the design of the existing paved and green areas. The parking lot was rearranged and the small-scale green structure was consolidated to ensure sustainable greenery and the associated shading of the parking lot.
