Heilbronn Education Campus

The 3rd construction phase of the Education Campus III forms the northern end of the overall site. It consists of two further university buildings and a library, which immediately catches the eye with its special glass façade. The resulting open space in the middle of the buildings is completely underbuilt with an underground garage and follows the design concept of the office koeber Landschaftsarchitektur.
The pavements and equipment elements were already used in the previous sections. However, the defining element, the "green center" of the square was given an elliptical shape that is new for the area. Large pines and maples were planted in its center, which had to be planted at a higher level due to the underground parking garage below. The enclosure of the lawn is achieved by a widely projecting bench made of concrete. At its southern tip, a water table was integrated, from which a total of 7 small water fountains can bubble.
With the conversion particularly the logistics concept was to be kept in the eye. While the three buildings were in the interior construction and the accesses had to be constantly usable, the bulk materials, concrete slabs and equipment elements had to be delivered and installed in parallel.
The construction site was implemented according to the agreed schedule and within the specified cost framework.
