In cooperation with the city of Ingelheim am Rhein, gutschker-dongus planned a public green space for the local recreation of the population.

Among other things, a recreational area with a playground for children was created along the southwestern Selz River in the floodplain. Due to the immediate proximity to the Selz, the focus was on a near-natural design, which is reflected in the choice of materials and playground equipment. In a child participation ideas for the playground were collected and some of the children's wishes could be realized.

For the playground design the theme "water" was taken up. Various "islands" were created with different play opportunities. One island offers a sand and mud area with a water play system and a water pump with a natural water course. Other islands include a pirate ship, zip line, climbing frame and swings.

The green space was traversed by a bike/pedestrian/hiking trail to reconnect the adjacent urban connector trails to the north and south, some of which were difficult to access or even impassable. An existing walking path along the eastern planning boundary was completely over-planned, with a partially new trail alignment and rest area. A plant concept for the accompanying greenery was created and implemented within the roadway. In some areas, the green spaces are only extensively maintained so that flower meadows can establish themselves over the summer, which are of particular importance for insects.

In addition, the Selz was renaturalized by creating a near-natural watercourse structure and flattening the banks. The banks of the Selz and the newly built retention basins for rainwater management were integrated into the design and planting concept and therefore made very natural and experienceable.
