Redesign of the outdoor areas at the St. Michael daycare center in Schwebenried

In the course of the general renovation and expansion of the kindergarten into a daycare center, the outdoor facilities were somewhat reduced in size, but the large, shady trees (maple, apple, blood plum, hazelnut, chestnut, Norway maple and walnut) were preserved.



A large paved terrace was added to the recreation area of the building.



The following new play equipment was also planned:



- Large climbing facility from spielart GmbH, Laucha

- Trampoline

- Two bouncy animals "Peter's team" and pony

- Small playhouse

- "Caterpillar with kitchen" in the sand area

- Nest swing

- Play hill

- Double slide

- Tree house with tree platform in the large existing trees

The existing sand play area was preserved and fitted with new edging to enable play in the sand and with sand on the edging.



The planting was designed with a "grass forest", a grass hedge and a cottage garden for the teachers, as well as a "herb garden" and a "snack garden" for the kindergarten children.



The outdoor facilities were newly enclosed with a 1.40 m high plastic-coated fence with a door and a double-leaf gate.



The entrance area with stairs and ramp was constructed by the client with shell limestone slabs and concrete block paving; the planting with perennials and grasses as flowering ribbons was carried out by the gardening and landscaping company Thomas Rüger, Arnstein-Büchold.


The general renovation and expansion of the St. Michael daycare center in Schwebenried was celebrated with the inauguration on October 3, 2019 with all those involved in the construction, parents and children.
