The Pfefferberg beer garden is a historically significant garden monument and an institution in Berlin- Pankow / Prenzlauer Berg.

Like most breweries, the former brewery site (since 1842) had a representative entrance area with a beer garden.

Today, the grounds of the garden monument belong to several partial owners. In the course of increased commercial use and lack of consideration as a garden monument, conflicts arose between local residents (owners) and the interests of the monument protection authorities.
Among other things, furnishing elements and temporary buildings stood in the way of the garden being perceived as a garden monument.

As part of an extensive moderation process between the interest groups, a concept for the further development of the beer garden in line with the preservation order was developed in consultation with all parties involved. The particular challenge was to reconcile both the economic interests of the users and the heritage aspects.

In addition, a new glass pavilion was developed for the local Pfefferberg Theater. The pavilion was designed as a "flying building" on point-slab foundations. In addition to other protective measures, the impact on the existing trees was reduced.

The pavilion has a summer use with opening on all sides; in winter, as a closed glass body, it serves as a venue for the theater ensemble.

In addition to planting new lime trees in keeping with the listed building and the location, maintenance measures were carried out on the existing trees.
