The garden courtyard and the ruins of the Hall of Antiquities are located in the inner courtyard of the main building of the University of the Arts (UdK) in Berlin. The neo-baroque university building is now a listed building. The Hall of Classical Antiquities has been preserved as a ruin after being destroyed in the war and was designed as a memorial to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1938 pogrom night.

The garden courtyard and ruins garden with their lawns and benches are used by students and staff of the UdK. The university's big summer festival takes place there every year.

The courtyard was originally laid out in the landscape style of the early 20th century, with curved paths, planted hills and open valleys.

In the course of the renovation, the paths were carefully resurfaced with the existing Bernburg mosaic paving and the side entrances were made accessible without steps. The lost path oval was restored while preserving trees worthy of protection. Historical visual relationships were strengthened by thinning out the planting.

As a result of these measures, the courtyard has been restored to its former glory and can now be used for everyday activities and summer festivals. The restored oval path with its interplay of light and shade under old trees has a special flair.
