In the commercial GSG Höfe Adalbertstr. 5-8, two new buildings are planned in the gaps on the street side. The development on the street lines will create calm courtyard areas.

The design concept for the open spaces responds to the special location in the center of Kreuzberg and translates the themes of sustainability, social competence and the characteristics of the neighborhood into a holistic open space concept.

The Kiezhof will be completely car-free, so passers-by can spend time here undisturbed and in safety. Attractively planted green spaces, especially in the bright garden courtyard, create infiltration areas and ecologically effective recreational qualities. An industrial building next to the Remisenhof is the highlight of the design. New lighting in the atrium emphasizes the typical Kreuzberg clinker brick façades.

In the existing courtyards, which are not affected by new construction measures, the existing paving will be retained, but will be reworked (blasted, sanded) to create a more attractive surface.

The courtyards will also be equipped with a new guidance system. The now dark passageways will be rhythmized by a multicoloured colour concept (colors are based on the colors of the neighbourhood), which will also be applied to the wayfinding system.

Further measures planned for the buildings include extensive green roofs, numerous seating areas made of durable and sustainably produced wood, attractive outdoor lighting and a significant increase in bicycle parking spaces.
