In the Bläsiberg landscape conservation area, the three cultural monuments of manor house, barn and stable building stand as a unique ensemble on a mountain saddle. The historically significant site had been settled for many centuries. Previously, the Tübingen specialist drug clinic was located in several places. The locations were each too small for consolidation and the decentralised facility was problematic for the operators. The Bläsiberg is ideally suited as a location for withdrawal and therapy and has now been expanded with three new buildings to become the final location of the specialist drug clinic. The building position creates a gate-like access situation and a protected inner courtyard with benches, fountains and water basins as a place for meeting, exchange and contemplation. The structural closure creates both a protected inner courtyard with a diverse quality of experience as well as a clear definition of the entrance and a visual axis to the old manor house. The leitmotif of the open space concept is balance and healing: the spatial gaps between the individual buildings make reference to the surrounding natural space through landscape bands. These bands have an effect on the one hand through differentiated plantings, as in the apothecary and kitchen gardens, and on the other hand through the design with steps and seating cubes. The terrain changes thus become recreational spaces. The existing courtyard tree of the clinic is the lime tree accompanied by two new rock pears. The seasonally changing appearances characterize the atmosphere of the atrium-like courtyard and divide it from north to south. Their care is integrated into the occupational therapy. The intensity of use and care is reflected in the appearance: if the garden is little used, a flowering, fragrant herb and perennial area develops from the stepping vegetation on limestone substrate (gravel fields). In this way, the space will adapt to the changing pressure of use through extensive maintenance. Water-permeable surfaces in the courtyard contribute to a good indoor climate, especially on hot summer days. The new buildings and the historic buildings are connected by light-coloured granite paving strips as well as a water band with two water basins: A sandstone trough from the 19th century stands opposite a modern fountain made of concrete.
