The relocation of the radio tower access was examined in several variants as part of a feasibility study. The resulting preferred option is the basis for the subsequent project planning for the area around the radio tower. The plans envisage reactivating the original access via a tunnel beneath Hall 15 and constructing a new exit structure within the exhibition grounds with a barrier-free ramp and direct access to the tower. In future, access can be decoupled from trade fair operations so that safety requirements are fully met. The area to the north of the radio tower will be upgraded as an attractive open space. If possible, a pavilion will be erected there again at the old location; alternatively, the existing fountain will be refurbished.
